Jim and Sylvia Sheehan formed a partnership in business (1979) before they got married (in 1983), and both unions have proved successful.
They decided to open their business servicing the moving and insurance claims industry and it stemmed from working well together. They utilized their combined expertise and experiences in related fields. In 1985 they opened a full-service furniture restoration shop in downtown Glens Falls.

In 2002, Jim and Sylvia decided to sell the building that housed their restoration business. They took the part that serviced the moving and insurance claims and are continuing to concentrate on that work This now allows Sylvia to travel with Jim as they can conduct the majority of the claims business on the road. They continue to operate an effective and efficient transit damage repair business as well as serving the general public.
Jim's expertise in the moving business was a natural--he was born to the trade. His father was the owner of a local moving company in Schenectady NY. Jim subsequently ran this business for several years. This is where Jim acquired his knowledge in handling, packing and transporting household goods. His experience in varied trades became applicable to addressing transit damage repairs and general repairs to many categories of home furnishings. Plus, he has an innate mechanical aptitude which is used to great advantage in looking at problems from all angles.
Sylvia’s contribution to the business is her administrative and organizational skills. Her experience includes working as an executive secretary, realtor, mortgage banker, sales manager and other administrative positions while involved in the aerospace, wholesale supply, real estate and construction industries during the 32 years she lived in Southern California.
